One important thing that you should keep in mind when travelling to Serbia is that you have to declare the amount of money that you have upon arrival. There is also a limit of 2000 euros that you can take out of the country. You can exchange money at the banks or exchange offices. There are also several ATMs where you can withdraw your money anytime of the day. Most credit cards are accepted for transactions but you will need to verify it first with the business establishment.
Getting around in Serbia can be done with a car, through the bus or the train. If you want to rent a car, you have to be familiar with the roads first as well as the traffic rules. Road signs can be poorly marked, and the roads can be bumpy which is why driving at night is not recommended. For the trains, the railway system is extensive but the train system is not really reliable. Taxi services in Serbia are good and they are very affordable. These are available anytime of the day and the drivers are well-trained, knowledgeable and most if not all of them can speak in English. Another option when getting around in Serbia is to take the bus, which is also cheap but very safe.
Lastly, you should be aware of the wonderful places that are a must visit in Serbia as well as the best restaurants where you can dine. Novi Sad is an old Serbian town which has several churches, pubs and archways. Belgrade, the capital city of the country also has a lot of attractions to offer such as different churches, the Terazije Street, the Republike Square, the Yugoslav Parliament and a lot more. There are also wonderful diners and restaurants here which offer the best of Serbian cuisine.
